SUSPENSION

TA TRACTION BARS

No Hop Bars2 gif.gif (6420 bytes)TA has the ultimate bolt on traction bar for the 1964-72 GM "A" body cars.  Commonly referred to as "no hop" bars, they improve traction and reduce 60 foot times.  TA has done this by relocating the upper control arm to produce the correct instant center location.  In charging the instant center location, the chassis will try to drive the rear end downward and loft the vehicle up, this putting all the weight of the vehicle on the rear tires.  Stock suspension does just the opposite.  It tries to draw the rear end and the body together which reduces the downward force, therefore reducing traction.

Rich Brouwer's  "Coin Operated" race car.  The name of this car says it all.  Rich found it too expensive to back-half his car, and install a new suspension and large tires.  Rich runs stock suspension with traction bars and a 10.5 x 30 tall slick and has recorded a remarkable best 60 foot time of 1.42 at 10.5 E.T., making it the fastest stock suspension Buick in the country.
